Sonata d minor op. 73 (1919)
for viola and piano
Joseph Ryelandt was one of an exceptional generation of late Romantic composers who shaped the musical life of Belgium between the 1890s and 1920s.
The lovely sonata reminds sometimes of César Franck, but is not as difficult. The sonata is newly edited according to the autographs and includes a preface as well as an edition report with individual comments.
